I have tried over and over again to get Aiden to use the BiG BoY potty! It first started I guess about 8 months ago. You know when everyone tells you if they hide it's time to lose the diapers. HaHa not for us! I tried everything...videos, candy rewards, putting the potty in the living room...you name it I tried it.
Aiden's little buddy here just got potty trained so I thought, Oh Hell, let's give it another try.
I told Aiden that tomorrow we were going to go potty on the BiG BoY potty.
Day 1: We woke up and I tried to get him to sit on the potty first thing... nothing. So I removed his diaper and set a timer for every 30 minutes. Aiden, when the timer goes off we have to sit on the potty! This worked!! He sat but didn't go. I tried to give him a candy reward, he took it but didn't eat it. We continued this all day... I filled him with water and salty foods all day. He never did eat the candy. Diaper at nap time and bed.
Day 2: We started the day the same way... no bottoms. We were much more successful with using the potty and not just sitting on it. I made up a song that we sang and danced to every time he was successful using the potty! He loved this!! It made me happy too...no candy!
Day 3: We had a few accidents, but that's ok. It happens.
Week 2: Aiden has been doing excellent!!! He usually takes himself to the potty and doesn't want his song or any help! He's been having dry diapers every night too!! In a few more weeks I think we'll try undies at bedtime!
We couldn't be more proud of Aiden!!!
Saving about $60 a month not buying diapers and wipes anymore!! WooHoo!!!
